Day 2 Atlanta, Georgia
Hobey-ho!!! hows everything?!?! classes are starting for most of you ppl, are you ready? my first week was fine, got to know my professors and planned out how to attack most of my courses.. some of the course i'm taking is tough and the others are manageable and fun. I'm having a lab class about wind tunnels! WIND TUNNELS! i cant wait for that one... classes that i'm taking include materials, aircraft structures, c programming, aerodynamics....
and fred's leaving! or already left when you're reading this... everyone's leaving... holy crap.. i'm a lil worried smk sbs class of 2006 might break up... LETS WORK HARD TO KEEP IT TOGETHER YO =p
okay, this post is about day two of my trip, when we were at atlanta... enjoy
it started to get reallll cold! (u saw the car in the last post!) okay I left the last post at atlanta, lets start from there. so we drove to the Augusta Golf course to find that only members could enter, wat?!?!? without wasting time we drove just 2 hrs to get to atlanta
jeng jeng! the skyline
from the highline

georgia power, i duno wat the buildings for. just wanted to get the picture
okay so we drove around the coca cola factory to see where to park... so we ended up in a housing area just 5 minutes away from the factory.. this is funny. we walked to the coke factory and then to the cnn hq building got some food and then BACK to the car just to check whether we locked the car or not... haha
wat a waste of time... we didnt forget to lock our car ever since.
and we had to walk pass like 10 - 15 black homeless people hanging around, sleeping on the pavement with their luggages and stuff. They might be waiting for a bus or something, but they were still there when we left the place. A lil scary. I didnt dare to stare at them for long.
more stories about african american populated areas in other posts..
there! the coke factory/museum/whatever

atlanta isn't as dense as kuala lumpur and there aren't as much buildings around (pretty obvious from the skyline).. the pics from here-on are taken from the Centennial Olympic Park (i was kinda expecting to see stadiums around the place =p)
and i just found out that in march 08 a tornada hit this park area
coke museum's front entrance
the olympic torch, pretty huge (despite popular belief, i was not posing in this pic)

cnn in the background.. all these buildings are just nearby the centennial park

look at their silly bike posts

fountain of rings ooo

i love the colorful bottles, this is what u see when you first step into the museum.
a coca cola character.. remember them from the coke vending machine advertisements where this lil thingy kiss the coke bottles before the vending machine spills out the bottle? ok nvm
and i just found out that santa claus was created by a coca cola as a marketing campaign

here u can pick up a phone receiver and listen to peoples stories about coca cola.. stories.. about coca cola... wat?!?
i think this is the only photo from the ENTIRE trip with four of us in it. enjoy it as much as u can
this is the section where they show us how coke is produced, put in bottles, etc

i want these bottlessssss... yu yi will want em too =p
this section of the museum displays coca cola memorabillia

notice the beach pants at the bottom left of the display window... i want one of those too
i duno... coke cab?
one of those refrigerators would be nice in my room... though i pretty much never touch soft drinks anymore

oooo ping pong... been long since i played =( lets play ping pong when i come back guys!

the many many coca cola products that we're gonna taste in a bit... heh
in this section, visitors can try the many types coca cola products from every continent (yes they are different, no i dont know why. different culture, different taste?)
these drinks are from asia and i dont like any of em! especially the ones from japan, they're nasty
latin america,
i loved inca kola, cant remember the taste but i remember that i took another cup of it =p
africa
the krest ginger ale was okay... tasted a bit weird at first but i liked it after that. doesnt taste at all like ginger!

hi!

north america
the drinks here are bad!! its all filled with gas, coloring and flavoring omg

aaa free gifts, visitors were invited to take a bottle as souvenir haha
we stood there for like 5 mins choosing because on the bottles they had serial numbers
we must have looked dam stupid
gift shop, there were alot of nice stuff in here like coca cola caps and t shirts and puzzles and display items but i didnt bought any coz i have the free bottle =p

lol this is embarrasing. this ceiling lamp hanged thru a hole in the ceiling.. it looks like half of the lamp was mirrored by the other half ok... so i thought there was a mirror on the ceiling! then i tried on cap and looked up to see nothing! dont it looks like theres a mirror? =(

nice bottles..
before the coke museum we went into the cnn centre to eat and check out the cnn studio tour which was expensive.. it was really big inside with working ppl eating and hustling and bustling. they also had a gigantic tv at the lobby/foodcourt hanging from the second floor... guess which channel was on.
later we drove around atlanta to find other attractions and kinda got lost. then we found this carter memorial library and thought that we can access the internet from here.. turns out that only researchers can use the facilities (ish!)
so we parked outside the library and slept in the car for the night! this time we brushed outside when the wind was blowing and it was brrrrrrrrrr cold like really really cold when we washed our hands haha can u imagine... we were trembling and jumping around while brushing...
you know when u walk out in the cold the first thing that FREEZES is your jeans... it gets so so cold
mm hmm this is the end of this post! dont get me wrong guys.. i love blogging. it lets me communicate with whoever is interesting in reading what i experience and let u guys see what i see thru pictures. but uploading these pictures is so tedious.... so bear with me when i take time to update on this trip ok... mwah! love u guys for that
oh yea, ty asked in what way has this trip changed me..
from this trip i have learned that it is important to do what i feel like doing and how to do it right.. i am probably the one that enjoyed most in this trip because i wasnt holding myself back as much... from this trip i also learned how to lead because i was like the tour guide of the trip, researching and knowing where to go beforehand...
and i got to know so much more about the three of them
till next time
Hobey-ho

Day 1 St Marys, Georgia
hey guys! i'm back at embry riddle! miss me? i sure do miss everyone.. especially after seeing the pics that u guys took at bkt tinggi, pd... without me!! how is that possible omg... ok..
and chinese new year's coming up.. holy crap the snacks... oh yea and my family too =p
but i had a road trip of my own BLEHHH
22 days on the road, sleeping in the car, friends place, and few days in motel... because it gets friggin cold in the car!!
for me the ultimate goal of this trip was to be at times square for the countdown.. and i enjoyed every second of it. On our way, we visited Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Buffalo and Niagara Falls, peeped over at Canada, went to Boston, New York City, New Jersey, Philadelphia and Washington DC. Altogether, we drove past 14 states (familiar number?). We didn't stop at every state because there weren't much to see especially in North Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia all but stretches of farms and plains...
I learned alot in this trip and it changed me a little... for the better
On the way up we drove thru states further from the coast. We started at embry riddle on the 11th. Around 10 o'clock, singapore (thats what we call the singaporean fellow) went to collect our rented car. A dodge caravan
best picture i could find... almost like an Unser.
After that we started loading our stuffs... a small container for our food, backpacks, small luggages, windbreakers and blankets. then we went to walmart to get our food. we survived on bread and peanut butter for the entire trip.. well we did try some local food at some places.. more on that later... bread and food bar... we also bought some snack (pringles, chocolate)
After all that, we drove north towards St Marys, Georgia where we were supposed to visit a submarine museum but it was closed! St Marys was a really quiet and small town. Even the submarine museum is small... smaller than my room probably... no idea how they can fit a submarine inside... maybe there is none ahha.. ok so after enjoying the golden sun and the semi-nice scenery of St Marys we went to a nearby kfc which provides wifi. Here i chatted with chai abit then checked my results.... 3A and 2B... wth B in math.... it was expected but still.... arghhhhhhh! (my aunt asked me to stop cursing on the blog so i censored with arghh)
then we decided that St Marys was really small and boring (everythings closed) we're done with it so we drove up to Augusta coz isaac (the short haired) wanted to see the golf course and get some souvenirs... we reach Augusta round 9pm at night so we went ahead and found a place to park our car and sleep for the night...
a parking lot outside barnes and noble... well we had to brush our teeth and barnes and noble was still open... so why not? ahah we went in, did our stuff then pretended to look at some books then got out of there lol
this is how we slept in the car...
singapore.. smartest guy around because of his age and experience. serving in the singapore military and is quite a high ranking officer.
isaac totally "cocooned" as we call it haha the guy who talks alot and gets nothing done... but I just learned that he's a good person
me, in hoodie.. sharing comforter with nickie chen whos taking the pic from his seat.. i didnt brought mine along because its too thin! note that it wasnt that cold yet and we were still surviving...
nuclear plant!! ok it was my first time seeing one.. so i was a bit excited =p

St Marys, near a river which I do not know the name of because we have no tour guides.. but it did smelt like the sea...
the golden sun
it was a lil chilly but still bearable.. me, isaac, singapore
mr photographer. all he does is game.. more hardcore than any person i know
small shop houses.. extremely

even the tree is so much larger than those houses..
the submarine museum.. i swore it was much smaller when I saw it with my eyes o.O

guess whos stretching after the long journey ahhhh....
ok so its back to school and my classes are 8 o'clock every morning except tuesday...
more updates and pics 2mro hopefully
it felt great coming back to daytona away from the cold and back into the sun... i learnt to appreciate the sunlight alot more...
and i already have a quiz before the first day of class!!
rock on.. happy birthday to the january babies
and chinese new year's coming up.. holy crap the snacks... oh yea and my family too =p

i'm BACK!
heyyyy how are you guys.. its been three months hmm... wondering hows evrything at home... miss u!
just survived HELL WEEK.. man it was really bad. i had a test on monday, a quiz on tues, handed in final report on wed and just came out alive from another test.
the test on monday was stupid, drafting class asking stupid questions. just copied out of my notes.
quiz on tuesday was crappy... did really bad. the class did bad too but thats not a good excuse hmm... i studied but.. didnt expect something that tough. it was for fluid mechanics.
the final report for technical report writing course was the killer.. it took out so much of my time (coz i'm a slow writer =D). but i managed to do my part well..
the test just now was fluid mechanics too. but i did good this time. only a minor mistake was done... dan saya sangat kencing!! (i'm so pissed) =p
relieved that hell week is over for me though...
not much happened. oh yea i was called in for an interview for a financial department job haha i was so happy coz before that all my applications were rejected without any interview... happy to say i did quite well at the interview lol was dam nervous =p
thanksgiving holidays next week from wed to sunday... therefore alot of time to study for finals which is a week after that =D omg finals =D
cant wait for next semester to start and this to end lol

homecoming parade two weeks back. it was pretty fun
look at that monkey!
the hockey team
the pimp'd ride

the pep band
our mascot
old macdonald had a....
convertible...

the bagpipe guy.. every evening without fail we can hear him playing his bagpipe... just like at funerals.. crazy fella

they're dance. i swear the guy in front looks exactly like will smith haah i shouted will smith and he laughed =p

i still remember playing this stupid game so long time ago... the theme for this homecoming parade was board games..

=D
all the girls in embry riddle are in this picture
shark attack! dam creative right...

the girl behind was acting as sarah 'dumb' palin

these pics were taken from the shuttle launch last week

nice pic eh? my cam could only capture the flare lol.. these were taken by senthil and another guys 5meg cam..
